Christiaan Mondria – Founder of Rentioo
Helping holiday homeowners navigate the rental landscape with confidence, clarity, and results.
About Christiaan
Christiaan Mondria has spent over 25 years in the travel and vacation rental industry, building a unique expertise in tourism, property sourcing, and rental strategy. After graduating in International Tourism Management & Consultancy at Breda University of Applied Sciences, he worked for TUI in various roles, gaining deep knowledge of key Southern European destinations.
In 2011, Chris shifted his focus to the fast-growing holiday rental sector. At Topic Travel, he was responsible for over 2,000 high-end vacation homes across France, Portugal, Spain, Croatia, and Italy. After Topic Travel was acquired by Belvilla, the market leader in the Netherlands, he built and led a new acquisition team to fuel the company’s rapid European growth.
Christiaan has personally visited hundreds of properties, consulted with countless homeowners, and analyzed performance data at scale. His key insight? Successful vacation rentals depend on two things: happy guests and a solid return on investment. In 2019, Christiaan relocated to Switzerland to help establish Belvilla’s new international headquarters, shortly before its acquisition by OYO. He later joined James Villa Holidays (part of Awaze) – a UK-based luxury rental specialist with a strong presence in Southern Europe.
With Rentioo, Chris brings all his experience together. His mission is to help homeowners choose the right rental solution — whether managing it themselves or outsourcing to professionals — through clear comparisons, unbiased advice, and practical industry insights.
A Personal Note
Over the past decade, the vacation rental market has become highly professionalized. That brings both opportunities and risks. Owners who stay informed can turn both to their advantage. Today’s travelers increasingly seek authentic, peaceful stays away from the crowds. A well-prepared vacation rental can deliver just that — and more.
My personal favorite destination? Greece. I’m drawn to its authenticity, friendly locals, amazing food, rugged nature, turquoise waters, and small-scale hospitality. I’ve explored over 15 islands so far — and with more than 6,000 to go, I’m not done yet.
